Coloured Hempcrete

Hempcrete is a building material made from a mixture of hemp shiv (the woody inner core of the hemp plant) and a lime-based binder. It is often used as an alternative to traditional concrete or brick construction, and it is known for its natural aesthetic, low environmental impact, and high thermal mass. Hempcrete is made by mixing hemp shiv and a lime-based binder, such as hydraulic lime, together to form a slurry. The slurry is then poured into moulds or applied by hand to form the desired shape, and it is left to cure until it hardens into a solid mass. Hempcrete can be used to construct walls, floors, and roofs, and it can be finished with a variety of natural or synthetic finishes. Natural pigments or dyes can be added in a range of colours and shades, depending on the desired aesthetic effect.
