Suyaki probably comes to mind first when you think of Yakisugi – it’s the original variety and the surface treatment that stands out most. The charring process leaves behind a deep black layer of soot and a scaly texture, akin to alligator skin. And needless to say, it’s a major head-turner.
This image is a seamless wood texture with suyaki ebony arranged in a stretcher pattern. Seamless textures can be tiled repeatedly across a surface without visible seams making them useful for architectural drawings and 3D models. This image can be used as a SketchUp texture, Revit material or imported into Photoshop for use in 2D illustrations.
