Dolerite, also known as Diabase, is a fine to medium grained igneous rock with a similar composition to basalt. Crushed dolerite is used extensively as an aggregate in concrete and asphalt, and as railroad ballast. Notable uses of Dolerite as a building material include the Marine Corps War Memorial in the United States and Mount Stewart in Northern Ireland. A form of Dolerite, called Bluestone, is used in the construction of Stonehenge. Sample sourced from the Smithsonian Institution.
This image is a seamless stone texture with dolerite arranged in a herringbone pattern. Seamless textures can be tiled repeatedly across a surface without visible seams making them useful for architectural drawings and 3D models. This image can be used as a SketchUp texture, Revit material or imported into Photoshop for use in 2D illustrations. A high resolution version of this texture is available, as well as CAD hatches and PBR maps with Architextures Pro.
