You can control where additional materials are positioned using the placement tool. The tool has 3 possible options described below. The ability to add additional materials requires an Architextures Pro Account. When there are multiple materials using different methods of placement, Manual placement takes priority over Defined, and Defined take priority over Random placed materials.
Tiles will be placed at random based on the frequency input. The default material fills the remaining space. E.g if Material B is set to 33% it will cover roughly one third of the tiles. If Material C is also set to 33% it will cover half of the remaining tiles (Roughly 1/3 of the total tiles) and the default material will fill the rest.

When placement is set to Defined, the position is controlled by rules based on Hit and Miss values that create a repetitive sequence. The Hit value sets how many consecutive tiles will match this style on the row or column, while the Miss value controls the gap, i.e how many consecutive tiles will not match this style.
The Hit and Miss sequence repeats across the entire length of the row and column. This makes the Defined placement a useful alternative to Manual placement for repetitive positioning as the rules are followed when the total number of rows and columns changes.
The starting position for the rule can be changed by using the shift parameter.
The diagram below illustrates some basic Hit and Miss sequences for a simple, 8 x 8, square stack pattern. For complex patterns it may be difficult to interpret the rows and columns and therefore using manual placement may be more appropriate in these cases.
Manual placement allows you to select individual tiles that match the style of the given material. When Manual placement is selected, a select tool will appear which highlights the pattern with blue outlines and makes it possible to select individual tiles.
