A densely packed assembly of small, loose red-brown, pastel-grey peach, pink and dull red stones widely used in landscaping, driveways footpaths and infrastructure projects. Left loose, they are a great outdoor underfoot surface for areas with high rainfall, as the soil substrate layer absorbs and dissipates excess water much better than fully hardscaped surfaces. Stones can also be used in decorative rockeries, water feature beds and other landscaped areas such as flower pot toppings in place of grass as the soil beneath acts as a drain for excess water, while still providing the right conditions for plants and shrubbery to grow. They can also be compacted to bear heavier loads such as driveways, or laid and bound to a base surface, such as render, to create pebbledash effects on walls. Moderately coarse in grain as an assemblage, the individual stones are fairly rough. The natural colouring of the stones displays their geological composition, likely red granite, jaspillite or other iron rich rock. They are also commonly used as ballast on railway sleeper beds, left loose to help prevent the movement of tracks and sleepers under the weight and vibrations of trains.
A seamless landscaping texture with a stones surface. Seamless textures can be tiled repeatedly across a surface without visible seams making them useful for architectural drawings and 3D models. This image can be used as a SketchUp texture, Revit material or imported into Photoshop for use in 2D illustrations. A high resolution version of this texture is available, as well as CAD hatches and PBR maps with Architextures Pro.
