Oak veneered MDF (medium-density fiberboard) is a type of engineered wood product that consists of a core made from compressed wood fibers and a thin layer of oak veneer on the surface. MDF is made by breaking down hardwood or softwood residuals into wood fibers and combining them with wax and resin binders under high temperature and pressure. The oak veneer on top of the MDF core provides a natural and durable wood finish that has an attractive grain pattern and colour. The veneer is usually produced by slicing a log into thin sheets, which are then glued onto the MDF using a heat-activated adhesive. Sourced from Paterson Timber - paterson-timber.com
