Cape Blackwood, also known as Australian Blackwood, is a hardwood timber native to Eastern Australia and Tasmania and was introduced into the indigenous forests of South Africa, specifically the Southern Cape region. Its colour is highly variable with large wavy streaks of contrasting colours. Although called 'blackwood', its colour is not black, instead, the name is thought to refer to the dark stains on the hands of woodworkers caused by the high level of tannins in the timber.

This image is a seamless wood texture with cape blackwood arranged in a staggered pattern. Seamless textures can be tiled repeatedly across a surface without visible seams making them useful for architectural drawings and 3D models. This image can be used as a SketchUp texture, Revit material or imported into Photoshop for use in 2D illustrations. A high resolution version of this texture is available, as well as CAD hatches and PBR maps with Architextures Pro.
