Basalt Stretcher

A seamless stone texture with basalt arranged in a stretcher pattern. The image represents a physical area of 1620 x 1049 mm (63.8 x 41.3 inches) in total, with each individual block measuring approximately 400 x 100 mm. The joints are filled with mortar and are 5 mm (0.2 inches) in width.

Basalt is a distinctive, dark natural stone used commonly within architecture and construction. While historically used as a crushed aggregate material in roads, concrete, and railways, basalt has also become popular as a slab or panel of choice in the construction of buildings, due to its fine grain and dark complexion. Basalt is therefore commonly used in cladding for external facades, or in a polished form for floor tiles, surfaces, or monuments.

This texture uses a running pattern also known as a stretcher bond. The stretcher bond is one of the most common bonds used in masonry construction and uses stretchers, bricks laid flat with their long edge parallel to the wall. Each alternating course is offset by a half stretcher.

This image is seamless, meaning it can be tiled repeatedly for use in architectural drawings and 3D models.
